NEWS AND NOTES
FRIDAY NIGHT WITH THE FIGHTINS: The Portland Sea Dogs continue their four-game series with the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) on Friday night at FirstEnergy Stadium...Portland is looking to snap a three-game losing streak and a five-game losing skid on the road...Lefty Dedgar Jimenez is making his seventh start of the season and is 1-2, 2.52 ERA in his last four starts...Following this series, the 'Dogs are at Trenton for five games in four days.
EARLY RUN DIDN'T HELP: Jhon Nunez (2-for-3, RBI, 2B) gave the 'Dogs an early 1-0 lead with a run-scoring single, but Reading scored four times in the fourth and defeated the Sea Dogs, 7-2 in the series opener...Darwinzon Hernandez (L, 1-3) was terrific in the loss, going scoreless in six of seven innings pitched, and finished with a career-high 11 strikeouts...Mickey Moniak's two-run triple in the fourth proved to be the game-winning hit.
