NEWS AND NOTES
ON THE ROAD GAME: The Portland Sea Dogs open up a nine-game/eight-day trip on Thursday night against the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) at FirstEnergy Stadium...Portland will play 16 of their next 20 games outside of Maine...Lefty Darwinzon Hernandez makes his sixth start of the season and third against Reading...Phillies infielder Scott Kingery is scheduled to do an MLB Rehab Assignment for Reading in tonight's game.
TWO RUNS EARLY DID THE TRICK: Hartford scored single runs in the first two innings and held on for a 2-1 win on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field...Portland scored their lone run in the fourth inning on a run-scoring single by Bobby Dalbec...Despite the loss, Tanner Houck (3-3) worked 6.2 innings on six hits, two runs, two walks, and seven strikeouts...Hartford's bullpen worked 3.1 scoreless frames on just one hit and six strikeouts.
