NEWS AND NOTES

'CATS AND 'DOGS FOR ANOTHER WEEKEND: Tonight the New Hampshire Fisher Cats come to Hadlock Field to begin a four-game series with the Sea Dogs. The two teams met last weekend in New Hampshire, with the 'Cats taking three of four - including back-to-back walk-off wins on Friday and Saturday night.

DIAZ/HOFFMAN ROUND 2: Last Saturday, Luis Diaz and Jeff Hoffman faced off in New Hampshire, each delivering quality starts. Diaz went seven scoreless innings allowing just three hits, while Hoffman worked 6.1 innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits. Diaz exited with a 2-0 lead, but neither starter factored into the decision as the 'Cats went on to win 5-4 in 11 innings. Hoffman was the ninth overall pick of the Blue Jays in the 2014 draft and is rated the #3 prospect in the Blue Jays' system according to Baseball America.
