JERRY UHT PARK * GAME #97 * HOME GAME #49 * NIGHT GAME #69
Tonight, the SeaWolves look to snap a three-game slide as they take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) in the opening game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves fell behind 6-0 in the third inning, battle back to make it a one-run game, but ultimately fell to the Altoona Curve 8-6... Today, righty Chad Green makes his 19th start of the season and second against Richmond. He earned a win against the Squirrels on May 20 allowing two runs on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts in 6.2 innings. Green has been a victim of a lack of run support throughout the season. In 14 of his 18 starts, the SeaWolves have scored three runs or fewer. Green took his fourth straight loss in his last start against Akron on July 18. In the game, he allowed nine runs, three earned, on 10 hits with a walk and five strikeouts in three innings of work. Erie lost the game 12-2... Lefty Matt Gage takes the mound for Richmond making his second start. Gage earned a win in his last start against Altoona on July 17 allowing a run on seven hits with a walk and five strikeouts in five innings. Gage began the season in Class-A Augusta where he made 15 starts, posting a 4-4 record and 4.07 ERA.
