SECOND HALF STARTS TODAY: The Sea Dogs begin their second half today at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium to open up a four-game series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Justin Haley opens up the second half for Portland against Casey Lawrence for New Hampshire. The teams last met at Hadlock Field from 6/30-7/3 with the 'Cats taking three of four.
OH WHAT A NIGHT!: Last night, the Sullivan Tire Eastern League All-Star Classic was held at Hadlock Field, with the East winning in an unprecedented Home Run Derby Shootout to break a 4-4 tie after nine innings. Reading Fightin Phils outfielder Brian Pointer ended the game with a homer in the ninth round of the shootout. Altoona's Dan Gamache won the Electricity Maine Home Run Derby.
