PART 2 OF THE TRIP: The Sea Dogs continue their six-game roadtrip on Friday night, opening up a three-game weekend series against the Akron RubberDucks (Indians affiliate) at Canal Park...Portland dropped two of three in Erie, and have lost 15 of 22 to the Western Division this season...The 'Dogs are 30 games under .500 for the third time this season - and have never been 31 under in team history.
ONE INNING DID THE TRICK: Portland took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning last night on a run-scoring by Aneury Tavarez...Erie responded with six runs in the fifth off Justin Haley (4-13) and Simon Mercedes...In the eighth, James Robbins capped off the scoring with a three-run homer off John Cornely.
