The Sea Dogs open up a three-game series with the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants affiliate) on Friday night at Hadlock Field...Portland's magic number is five to clinch a playoff spot.

PART 2 OF THE HOMESTAND : The Sea Dogs try to avoid a season-high, five-game losing streak, opening up a three-game series with the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants affiliate)...Portland's magic number is five to clinch a playoff spot, and holds a one-game lead over the Binghamton Mets for the top spot in the Eastern Division - their smallest lead since a 1/2 game lead on May 14th...Richmond has won four straight at Hadlock Field, dating back to June 10, 2012...Portland was swept in a series at home for the first time this season.

THEY TOOK TWO : Portland was swept in a doubleheader Thursday and dropped all three games to the Akron RubberDucks...Keury De La Cruz blasted his first Hadlock Field homer in game one, but the 'Dogs fell 4-2...Justin Toole had the game-winning RBI, delivering an RBI single in the fifth...Will Roberts (12-11) earned the win and Luis Diaz (3-3) took the loss...In game two, Jaime Pedroza knocked home the lone run, leading off the seventh inning with a solo-homer into the Pavilion...The 'Dogs had just five hits, but received 6.1 IP from Justin Haley (0-2)...Louis Head (1-0) worked two scoreless frames to earn the win for Akron.
