
Fightins' comeback stalled late by B-Mets

The Fightin Phils (55-70) showed resiliency after falling behind 6-1 but ultimately fell short as they lost 8-7 to the Binghamton Mets (74-50) on Friday night. The Fightin Phils and B-Mets combined for 15 runs and 18 hits.
Ryan O'Sullivan struggled out of the gate as he allowed four runs to the Binghamton Mets in the top of the 1st inning. Dilson Herrera hit a solo home run while Darrell Ceciliani, Juan Centeno and Wilfredo Tovar hit RBI singles. Austin Wright came into the inning with two outs recorded by O'Sullivan.
Brandon Nimmo hit a solo home run off Austin Wright in the top of the 2nd inning to give Binghamton a 5-0 lead. Jake Fox hit his 19th home run of the season off Rainy Lara in the bottom of the 2nd inning to put Reading on the scoreboard 5-1. Rainy Lara helped out his cause in the top of the 3rd inning as he hit a RBI single off Wright to extend the B-Mets lead to 6-1.
The Fightin Phils stormed back in the bottom of the 3rd inning off Lara as Jake Fox hit a two-run double to score Zach Collier and Kelly Dugan while Fox would score on an error by Wilfredo Tovar to put Reading within two runs 6-4. Logan Moore hit a solo home run off Lara in the bottom of the 4th inning to put the Fightins within one run 6-5. The home run for Moore was his third on the season.
Logan Moore tied the game at 6-6 off Hansel Robles in the bottom of the 5th inning as he hit a sacrifice fly to score Jake Fox. Brian Burgamy gave the B-Mets an 8-6 lead in the top of the 7th inning as he hit a two-run home run off Colton Murray. Juan Centeno was ejected from the game in the inning for arguing balls and strikes. Kelly Dugan hit his fifth home run of the season off Chase Huchingson in the bottom of the 7th inning to bring Reading within one run 8-7.
Austin Wright allowed two runs through 3 1/3 innings off four hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Matt Hoffman tossed two scoreless innings with one walk issued and three strikeouts. Colton Murray allowed two runs off three hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Seth Rosin tossed a scoreless top of the 9th inning as he recorded two strikeouts.
The Fightin Phils and Binghamton Mets will play a doubleheader beginning at 5:05 pm tomorrow evening at FirstEnergy Stadium. Jesse Biddle (3-9, 5.03 ERA) will get the start in Game One while Adam Loewen (2-4, 3.15 ERA) will get the start in Game Two.
