COUPLE OF CHAMPIONS IN TOWN:Super Bowl Champion Malcolm Butler makes an appearance at Hadlock Field, as the Sea Dogs open up a three-game series with the defending Eastern League Champion Binghamton Mets on Monday night...Portland lost to the B-Mets (3 games to 2) in the 2014 Eastern Division Championship Series, and the Mets swept the Richmond Flying Squirrels in three games to claim the Eastern League title...Tonight is the first of 20 meetings between the two division rivals.

THEY MANAGED THE SPLIT: The Trenton Thunder received back-to-back homers from Aaron Judge and Greg Bird in the fifth inning, and beat the Sea Dogs 8-2 on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field...Miguel Sulbaran (2-0) tossed 5.1 innings on 4 hits and 2 runs to earn the win...Justin Haley (0-3) suffered the loss for Portland, yielding 8 hits and 6 runs over 4.2 IP...Keury De La Cruz knocked in both runs with a one-out double in the sixth...David Chester went 2-for-3 with a walk...Pat Light retired all four batters faced and Dayan Diaz worked two scoreless and fanned three.
