AKRON, Ohio - Altoona Curve second baseman Max Moroff has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of April 20-26th, the league announced today. It is the first weekly Player of the Week award for any Curve player this season and the first weekly award in Moroff's career.

The Maitland, Fla. native hit .474 last week during the team's five games with four doubles, one triple, one homer, four RBI and two runs scored. The week is part of Moroff's seven-game hitting streak where he's hitting .500 (14-for-28) since April 18. During his 13-game on-base streak, which started in the second game he played this year, Moroff is batting .340 with six extra-base hits to go along with nine walks.

Pittsburgh selected Moroff in the 16th round of the 2012 draft out of Trinity Prep (Fla.) School and he is in his fourth season in the organization. In high school, Moroff went 80-for-80 in stolen base attempts throughout his career at Trinity Prep and was All-District Central-Florida as a senior.

The first-place Curve (10-5), winners of four-straight and eight of their last 10 games, begin a series tonight at 6:35 p.m. in Akron with the RubberDucks (9-8). RHP Jason Creasy (1-0, 0.56) will make the start tonight for Altoona and be opposed by Akron's Shawn Morimando (1-1, 1.15). The team returns home his Friday to open up a seven-game homestand.

Airtime on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network for tonight's series-opener in Akron is scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
