Screaming Eagles To Bid For Memorial Cup

Sydney-The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have made two moves to their active roster effective Wednesday Oct.20.

Overage centre Stephen Horyl has been released from the active roster.

The River Ryan native informed the Screaming Eagles on Tuesday that he was no longer interested in playing Major Junior Hockey.

In 79 games with the Screaming Eagles Horyl scored 28 goals and added 21 assists with 34 penalty minutes.

The Screaming Eagles made an additional move on Wednesday adding goaltender Andrew Hayes to their active roster.

The 20 year-old native of Sherwood Park, Alberta played the past three seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League.

Hayes compiled a 67-28-3-5 record including 11 shutouts with Brandon.
