The 2009 New York-Penn League playoffs are scheduled to begin on Tuesday evening, September 8. In one semi-final series, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers will take on the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) while in the other semi-final series, the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees) take on the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox). Each semi-final series is a best of 3 format to be followed by a championship series also with a best of 3 format. By holding the best regular season record in the league, the Scrappers have wrapped up home field advantage throughout the entire playoffs.

Mahoning Valley travels to Brooklyn to play Game 1 of their semi-final series on Tuesday night with game time scheduled for 7:00. The Scrappers return home to Eastwood Field to play Game 2 on Wednesday night with game time scheduled for 7:05. If necessary, Game 3 will also be played at Eastwood Field on Thursday night with the game time scheduled for 7:05. All fans currently holding playoff packages should use Semi-Finals - Game A tickets for Wednesday's game and Semi-Finals - Game B tickets for Thursday's game (if necessary).

Ticket packages are still available for the entire 2009 New York-Penn League playoffs. With a maximum of 4 potential playoff games, each box seat playoff package is priced at $28 and offers an $8 savings off the regular ticket price by purchasing in advance. In addition, tickets are available for just Game 2 on Wednesday. Ticket prices are $9 for box seats and $7 for general admission.
