
Scrappers Fall to Crosscutters

Mahoning Valley Scrappers News Release
Niles, Ohio - Williamsport scored three runs over the final two innings to beat the Scrappers, 5-2, at Eastwood Field.
The game was tied at 2-2 until the top of the eighth inning, when the Crosscutters scored a run on a double down the left field line. The ball just stayed fair, giving Williamsport the lead.
One inning later, the Crosscutters added two more runs.
Mahoning Valley scored first on a long home run by Jake Lowery in the bottom of the first inning. Williamsport scored in the top of the second on another home run, this one by Patrick Murray.
The Crosscutters took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth on a two-out double before the Scrappers tied the game in the bottom of the sixth. Jordan Smith singled home Bryson Myles with two outs in the inning to make it 2-2.
The win went to Juary Gomez. The loss went to Tony Dischler.
Mahoning Valley and Williamsport continue their three-game series Thursday night at 7:05 pm.
