Everett Silvertips News Release
PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Goaltender Ian Scott delivered his second shutout of the season on 24 saves and Brett Leason bagged a pair of goals in a game much closer than what the final score indicated, as the Prince Albert Raiders got by the Everett Silvertips, 3-0 before a crowd of 2,228 at Art Hauser Center on Tuesday night.
UP NEXT: The Silvertips continue their seven-game road trip (2-2) Wednesday against the Saskatoon Blades, headed by head coach Mitch Love, at 6:00 p.m. PT (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App / WHL Live) at SaskTel Centre. The Tips return home after a seven-game road trip on Friday, Nov. 2 against the Tri-City Americans at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.
The two teams played to a scoreless tie in the first period despite the Tips trailing in shots, 10-1. Dustin Wolf, who turned in 27 saves and allowed just a goal in the first 57 minutes, made two point-blank saves with 10 seconds left on a late break by Spencer Moe and a follow up rebound to Carson Miller.
The Tips fell short on three successive power plays and Prince Albert responded when Leason cashed his 12th goal, converting Aliaksel Protas' cross-ice pass at the right circle with 6:43 left in the period.
The Tips turned the second period shots around to a 15-6 margin but Ian Scott turned all shots away, and Leason converted off a defensive zone turnover with a toe-drag move at the right circle and wrister under the bar with 2:40 left in regulation.
Justin Nachbaur buried an empty netter with 16 seconds left.
