Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (3-5-2-1) begin a three-game homestand when it welcomes the Brandon Wheat Kings (6-2-2-1) to Western Financial Place on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

The ICE are coming off of a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Brett Davis, Peyton Krebs and Kaeden Taphorn scored the goals for the ICE while Cam Hausinger, Jakin Smallwood, Martin Bodak and Jaeger White picked up the assists. Goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 28-of-34 shots that came his way. The ICE were outshot 34-33. They went 1-for-6 on the power play, 5-for-8 on the penalty kill and won 30-of-65 faceoffs.
The ICE have amassed nine points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 10th in the Eastern Conference.
The ICE have a home record of 3-2-1-0.

Wednesday's game will be game number two of a seven-game road trip for the Wheat Kings, which started the previous night in Lethbridge. The road trip includes dates against Lethbridge, Kootenay, Victoria, Vancouver, Prince George, Kamloops and Kelowna. The next home date for the Wheat Kings is November 9.
The Wheat Kings are coming off of a 2-1 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Tuesday, October 23. Stelio Mattheos scored the lone goal for Brandon while Zach Wytinck and Connor Gutenberg picked up the assists. Goaltender Jiri Patera stopped 25-of-27 shots that came his way. The Wheat Kings outshot the Hurricanes 35-27. They went 1-for-4 on the power play, 2-for-4 on the penalty kill and won 29-of-64 face-offs.
The Wheat Kings have collected 15 points this season, which is good for third in the East Division and fourth in the Eastern Conference.
The Wheat Kings have a road record of 2-1-1-0.
HEAD TO HEAD
This will be the first meeting of the season between the ICE and the Wheat Kings. Both teams will meet three more times before the 2018-19 campaign done. The next meeting will be in mid-January in Brandon.
