The Somerset Patriots shut out the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for a second consecutive night, by a score of 2-0 in front of a sold-out crowd on Friday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

The win was Somerset's fourth shutout victory of the season and their third of the Rumble Ponies. Dating back to Wednesday, the Patriots' pitching staff has now hurled 19 consecutive scoreless innings.

Now with a record of 15-9, the Patriots have moved a season-best six games over .500. Over the Patriots' two consecutive shutout wins, the pitching staff has collected 29 strikeouts.

The game was played in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,959--the Patriots' largest crowd of the season.

RHP Clayton Beeter (6.0 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 11 K) was credited with a no-decision, after he struck out a new career-best 11 strikeouts in six shutout innings.

RHP Steven Jennings (2.0 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 K) earned his second win of the season, relieving Beeter with two scoreless innings of relief.

RHP Tanner Myatt (1.0 IP, 0 R, H, 2 K) earned his team-high third save of the season, pitching a scoreless ninth and striking out the final two batters of the game.

C Austin Wells (1-for-4, 2 RBI, R, HR, K) provided the game's only extra-base hit, when he broke a scoreless tie with two outs in the eighth inning. Wells crushed his first Double-A home run of the season 424 feet away from home plate with an exit velocity of 109 mph.
