Hagerstown Suns News Release
Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (63-43/21-16) shutout the Lexington Legends (58-48/19-18), 6-0, at Whitaker Bank Park on Sunday afternoon.
Suns starter Blake Schwartz (1-0) earned the win going six shutout innings, allowing three hits and while striking out six batters. Colin Bates (2) finished the game with three scoreless innings to notch the save.
Caleb Ramsey went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Suns offense. Adrian Nieto hit his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot to lead-off the sixth inning.
Legends starting pitcher Tommy Shirley (2-2) suffered the loss in his first start of the season, allowing two runs on three hits over three innings pitched.
The Suns will now travel to Charleston, West Virginia, to take on the Power in a four game series beginning on Monday night at 7:05 p.m.
