Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
HICKORY, NC - Troy Schreffler, Jordan Dissin, and Justin Crawford homered and Sam Aldegheri threw six scoreless innings as the BlueClaws rolled to a 13-0 win over Hickory on Saturday, giving them three wins in the first five games of their series at LP Frans Stadium.
The 13 runs scored were the most by the BlueClaws since a 16-5 win over Wilmington on June 14th last season. The 13-0 win was the largest margin of victory by the BlueClaws since a 15-2 win over West Virginia on April 10, 2018.
Jordan Dissin opened the scoring in the top of the second inning with an opposite field home run to give the BlueClaws a 2-0 lead. It was Dissin's second straight game with a home run over the right field wall. Troy Schreffler doubled home a run later in the inning.
Jersey Shore added a run in the top of the fifth on a SAC fly from Bryan Rincon that scored Justin Crawford with the BlueClaws fourth run. Chad Castillo doubled home two more later in the inning, pushing the BlueClaws lead to 6-0.
After Erick Brito singled home a run, it was Troy Schreffler's turn. The Harrisburg-native hit an opposite field 2-run blast to cap a six run inning and give the BlueClaws a 9-0 lead. It was his first home run of the year and and eighth of his career.
Justin Crawford smashed an opposite field home run of his own in the seventh to drive in three more and make it 13-0. It was Crawford's second home run of the series and the season.
Meanwhile, starter Sam Aldegheri continued his strong start to the season. After he allowed one unearned run in 4.1 innings on Opening Night, he threw six scoreless innings while striking out six and allowing just two hits. Aleegheri was followed by Jack Dallas, Gunner Mayer, and Daniel Harper who each threw a scoreless inning apiece.
Crawford, Schreffler, and Felix Reyes all had two hits. Erick Brito had three, his third straight two hit game over which he is 7-11.
The teams finish their series at 2:00 pm on Sunday. RHP Estibenzon Jimenez starts for Jersey Shore. The BlueClaws return home on Tuesday to take on Brooklyn (Mets) in a six game series at ShoreTown Ballpark.
