Renegades Blank Emperors in Game Three
April 13, 2024 - South Atlantic League (SAL)
Rome Emperors News Release
ROME, Ga - For the second straight game the Renegades held the Emperors scoreless Saturday night, taking game three of the series, 3-0.
Emperors starter Owen Murphy turned in another exceptional start, getting through 5.1 innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out eight which tied his season high. Samuel Strickland and Jared Johnson covered the remainder of the game, allowing just one hit and one unearned run.
Justin Janas recorded his first multi-hit effort of 2024, going 2-for-3 with two singles. Tavarez's double to right centerfield was inches away from being the first longball of the Emperor Era but he settled for a two-bagger in the bottom of the second. Adam Zebrowski was the only other 'Emp to record a hit on a night where Rome had just as many hits (4) as errors (4).
Hudson Valley's staff rides a 16-inning scoreless streak going into Sunday. The Renegades have struck out 36 Emperors over the last 24 innings. Our double header on Sunday gets underway at 1:00 pm EDT.
