Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Connor Schmidt and Team Canada Red are off to a strong start at the 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Canada Red improved to 2-0 with a 4-3 win over Canada White on Friday night in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
Victoria Royals forward Cole Reschny led the way for Canada Red with a goal and three points, while Medicine Hat Tigers forward Gavin McKenna picked up a goal and two points.
Canada Red opened the tournament with a 3-2 shootout win over Finland on Thursday.
Schmidt and Canada Red will return to the ice on Saturday when they take on Czechia at 12 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
