Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

Calgary, AB - A two-game road trip to Alberta didn't start as planned for the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday in Edmonton.

Now, the Warriors will aim for a bounce back performance when they take on the Calgary Hitmen at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday.

"We tiptoed into [Friday's] game and it showed, we gave up seven goals, so you can't win by doing that," Warriors forward Atley Calvert said.

The Warriors started strong in Edmonton, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Oil Kings answered everything that Moose Jaw through at them.

Calvert said the Warriors will need to have the ability to respond when they take on Hitmen on Sunday.

"We can look at the video, take a good look in the mirror, get a good reset and come back with a new attitude," he said.

The Warriors remain in a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference, while Calgary sits four points back in ninth after falling 6-4 at home to Everett on Friday.

That loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Hitmen.

This is the second meeting of the season between the two sides after Moose Jaw earned a 5-3 win over Calgary at the Hangar on Oct. 10.

Calvert said the Warriors can't take the Hitmen lightly.

"They're a really hardworking team, hard to play against, they forecheck hard, so we're going to have to be ready," he said.

The Warriors and Hitmen face-off at 7 p.m. Saskatchewan time on Sunday.
