The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club, in conjunction with the Sault Airport Development Corporation, is excited to launch the "Connecting Our Community" program for the 2015-16 season.
"This announcement is an exciting one for our organization, as it strengthen's our off-ice involvement in our community that much further" began Hounds Director of Public Relations & Hockey Administration Gerry Liscumb Jr.
"Of everything we do in our community, it's the visits to SAH that present new, unique and rewarding experiences each and every time. I am extremely grateful for Terry Bos and the Sault Airport Development Corporation for seeing the value of this program and stepping forward with their commitment to our community" he added.
Through the joint partnership, Greyhounds players' will visit Sault Area Hospital spending time with patients throughout the entire facility along with assisting volunteers and staff in other initiatives such as WayFinding.
For every visit the Hounds make they will provide patients with a stuffed animal courtesy of the Sault Airport Development Corporation.
The emphasis of the "Connecting Our Community" program, in principle now in it's 6th season, is to help brighten the stay of all patients while connecting the Hounds players deeply with their community.
"The SSMADC is very happy to be joining the Greyhounds in giving back to the community through this great hospital program. We look forward to the Greyhounds lifting the spirits of so many people through this program" stated SSMADC President & CEO Terry Bos.
