Saturday's and Sunday's Games Postponed

(Bridgeport, Conn. - August 26, 2011) - Bridgeport Bluefish team officials today announced that due to the impending inclement weather this weekend, Saturday's (August 27) game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and Sunday's (August 28) game against the Lancaster Barnstormers have been postponed. The decision to postpone the games is being made preemptively for the safety and comfort of all the loyal Bluefish fans as they prepare for the impending weather.

Saturday's (8/27) game will be made up today as part of a doubleheader against the Blue Crabs with each game slated for seven innings. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., with the second beginning one half hour after the first concludes.

The Sikorsky Homerun for Heroes Charity event and Fireworks Extravaganza will be moved to Saturday, September 10. Game time is 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6:05 p.m. This event will commemorate our areas veterans. The evening will feature pre-game activities, on-field and between-inning events and a post-game fireworks display. Please also bring a canned food item to assist area veterans in need. All ticket holders that were part of a group outing for Saturday's (8/27) game are encouraged to now attend the Saturday, September 10 game against the Road Warriors. Please call your Bluefish group sales representative at (203) 345-4800 to reschedule your outing.

Any ticket holders with an individual ticket for Saturday's (8/27) game can exchange their tickets at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard Box Office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any one of the remaining Bluefish regular season home games during the 2011 season, based on availability.

Sunday's (8/28) game will be made up as part of a single admission doubleheader on Monday, August 29, with both games slated for seven innings. Game time for the first game of the doubleheader is set for 6:05 p.m., with The Ballpark at Harbor Yard gates opening at 5:05 p.m. Game two will begin approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the opener. Ticket holders for Sunday's (8/28) game can exchange their tickets at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard Box Office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any one of the remaining Bluefish regular season home games during the 2011 season, based on availability.

The Bluefish continue their homestand on Friday night against the Blue Crabs as they play the final two games of their three-game series at 6:05 p.m. Gates open at 5:05 p.m. for Freebie Friday as the first 1,000 fans that enter the ballpark will receive a Bluefish Piggy Bank, courtesy of People's United.

The Bridgeport Bluefish Professional Baseball Club, a charter team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, plays its home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, located off Exit 27 of I-95 on the corner of Broad Street and South Frontage Road in Bridgeport. 2011 group outings and individual tickets are available by calling 203-345-4800.
