Sanchez Homers Again, Rox Fall to Bucks

St. Cloud, MN - Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) belted his fourth home run of the season for the St. Cloud Rox on Sunday, as they wrapped up a two-game series with the Waterloo Bucks at the Rock Pile.

The Rox ended up falling in the game 8-2, now having won three of the last four contests in the second half of the Northwoods League season.

Sanchez kicked off the scoring for St. Cloud in the bottom of the fourth inning when he hit a solo shot to right field. The Rox later added another run in the bottom of the eighth inning, thanks to an RBI single from Jack Barrie (Reinhardt).

Sanchez and Barrie each finished with one hit and one RBI to lead St. Cloud. Ben Carew (Kent State) went 2-for-4 with one run scored, Ryan Davis (Georgetown) went 2-for-4 and Ryan Weisenberg (Georgetown) finished 1-for-4.

St. Cloud (16-14 second half, 32-34 overall) hit the road for two games in La Crosse on Monday and Wednesday before returning back to the Rock Pile for the final homestand of the regular season at the end of the week.

The Rox will host Thunder Bay at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in a game that will feature the world's best extreme pogo entertainment XPOGO Stunt Team presented by Buffalo Wild Wings. St. Cloud will wrap up the regular season home schedule at 7:05 p.m. Friday for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Texas Roadhouse, which will feature great giveaways throughout the game capped off by a Friday Night Fireworks show immediately after the game.

The Rox are in their seventh season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2018. Single game and group tickets for the entire season are on sale now.
