Pawtucket, RI - The Syracuse Chiefs got back in the win column with a 5-3 victory over the Pawtucket Red Sox Saturday night at McCoy Stadium. Adrian Sachez and Yadiel Hernandez each homered and Tommy Milone threw a quality start in the win.

Syracuse (30-42) got out to a quick lead in the first inning. Andrew Stevenson walked to lead off the game against Chandler Shepherd, and Sanchez homered over the left-field fence for a 2-0 lead. After Shepherd got the next two batters, Matt Reynolds doubled to extend the inning. Jose Marmolejos then hit a ground ball to first, that got under the glove of Mike Ohlman and allowed Reynolds to score on the error to extend the lead to three.

Another PawSox error proved costly in the second. Hernandez and Stevenson each singled, setting up first and third and two outs. Jacob Wilson hit a hard ground ball to third, which was bobbled by Mike Olt for another error, allowing Hernandez to score for a 4-0 lead.

Pawtucket (36-37) got on the board in the second. Olt made up for the error with a solo home run to get the PawSox their first run. In the third inning, Ivan De Jesus, Jr. added another two-out, solo home run to cut the Chiefs' lead to 4-2.

In the fourth inning, the PawSox loaded the bases with one out on a walk and singles by Sam Travis and Mike Olt. Milone struck out Ramon Flores, but walked Oscar Hernandez to force in a third run. But Mike Miller lined out to center to keep the score at 4-3.

Yadiel Hernandez gave Syracuse an insurance run in the sixth, becoming the first Chief to homer in back-to-back games this season. Hernandez's blast off Fernando Rodriguez gave the Chiefs the final margin at 5-3.

The PawSox again loaded the bases with one out in the eighth but Chris Smith and Josh Edgin got the next two batters to end the threat.

The Chiefs and PawSox wrap up their weekend series Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. RHP John Simms is scheduled to start for Syracuse opposite LHP Jalen Beeks for Pawtucket.
