Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - RHP Jordan Stephens struck-out nine batters over six shutout innings, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game two of their three-game series against the Toledo Mud Hens by a score of 2-1 on Saturday night from BB&T Ballpark.
Stephens recorded a season-high nine strikeouts on Saturday, but did not factor in the decision. The 25-year-old right-hander gave up just three hits over his six scoreless innings. In all, Stephens threw 100 pitches, 67 for strikes. LHP Aaron Bummer (0-2, 6.43) was saddled with the loss after he allowed two runs on two hits over one inning of work (7th inning).
The Knights tallied nine hits on the night and scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning thanks to an RBI single by right fielder Mason Robbins. Chicago White Sox top prospect Eloy Jiménez went 1-for-3 with a walk.
