Sanchez Dominates as Jumbo Shrimp Shut out Shuckers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sixto Sanchez fired seven scoreless innings and J.C. Millan homered on Tuesday to spearhead the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to a 2-0 shutout of the Biloxi Shuckers from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
Sanchez needed just 76 pitches to get through his seven frames. The right-hander struck out nine without walking a batter, yielding just two hits in the effort. Tyler Stevens fanned two in a scoreless eighth. Dylan Lee retired the first batter of the ninth inning, and after a rain delay, Tommy Eveld registered the final two outs for his third save.
Jacksonville (48-53, 19-12) broke the scoreless tie in the sixth. Sanchez notched an infield single with one out against Biloxi (61-40, 20-11) reliever Cam Roegner (3-4). Sanchez scored on Justin Twine's RBI double for the game's first run.
Millan added to the Jumbo Shrimp lead by blasting a solo homer in the seventh.
Tuesday's winning raffle number of 1227526033 won a prize of $83.
