San Rafael Pacifics, Maui Na Koa Ikaik Announce Three-Game Playoff Series

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (Aug. 20, 2012) - The San Rafael Pacifics and Maui Na Koa Ikaika have agreed to play a best-of-three series, Aug. 24-26, to decide the North American League's North Division champion, the league announced.

The two teams were already scheduled to play the final three games of the regular season at Albert Park over the weekend. The playoff games will be played at originally scheduled times: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.

The top two teams in the division - first-place San Rafael (31-23) and second place Maui (32-27) - have played 18 times this season, with the Pacifics winning 10 and losing eight. In the event the title is decided in the first two games, Sunday's scheduled game will be played and count towards both team's overall records.

The Pacifics, who have led the North Division since Opening Day (June 4), seek a wire-to-wire division crown in their inaugural season.

San Rafael will send team leader in wins, Jake Rasner (7-1), Tyler Pearson (4-0) and Jesse Garcia (0-2) to the mound Games 1 through 3, respectively, of the playoff.

There will be no postseason play between the North and South Divisions in 2012, the league announced.
