San Angelo, Texas --- Colts catcher Salvador Paniagua went 4-for-4 with a solo home run to lead the his team to a 4-2 victory over the Abilene Prairie Dogs Monday night at Foster Field.

Paniagua, playing in just his seventh game with the Colts, hit a solo home run in the eighth inning after already hitting a pair of singles and a double. The homer was his first as a Colt, and fourth this season.

The Colts took a 1-0 lead in the second, but fell behind 2-1 in the third. Abilene catcher Zach Welch and centerfielder Jason Martin both scored on a two-RBI double by left fielder Joe Weik.

Colts' first baseman Daryl Jones evened the game at two with a leadoff home run in the fourth. It was his eighth homer of the season.

Shortstop Danny Hernandez scored the go-ahead run in the fifth on an RBI single by left fielder Jason Diaz. Prairie Dogs' starter Matt Larkins (3-1) surrendered the run by Hernandez and took the loss. In all, Larkins gave up three runs on eight hits and struck out five in 6 1/3 innings.

Colts' starter Mike Hart (6-3) earned the win, allowing just two runs on eight hits in six-plus innings. Hart also struck out five batters.

Closer Erik Draxton pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to collect his league-best 21st save of the year. He is now a save away from tying the Colts' single-season record set in 2002.

The win improves San Angelo to 42-41, while the loss drops Abilene 32-49. This series concludes Tuesday night at Walt Driggers Field in Abilene. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and the game can be heard live on KKSA beginning at 6:50 p.m.

The Colts next home game is on Thursday, when they begin a four-game series against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings. It will be another $1 Beer Night, sponsored by Miller Lite. Gates open at 6:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
