San Jose Barracuda Announce Several Roster Changes

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) presented by Barracuda Networks (@barracuda) and Barracuda General Manager Joe Will announced today that the club has made several changes to the training camp roster in anticipation to the AHL regular season opener on October 9 at the SAP Center vs. the Rockford IceHogs.

The following players have been released and will report to the San Jose Barracuda's ECHL affiliate the Allen Americans:

Greger Hanson - F

Gary Steffes - F

Mike DiPaolo - F

David Makowski - D

Justin Baker - D

In addition, the San Jose Sharks have reassigned goaltender Joel Rumpel from the San Jose Barracuda to the Allen Americans.

The following players have been released and will report to their respective ECHL clubs:

Jonathan Parker - F - Reading Royals

Alex Gallant - F - Utah Grizzlies

Phil Pietroniro - D - Utah Grizzlies

In addition, the San Jose Barracuda have signed defenseman Danny Federico to a two-way AHL/ECHL contract and have loaned him to the Allen Americans.

With the 12 additions from the San Jose Sharks, (Mirco Mueller, Nikolay Goldobin, Melker Karlsson, Ryan Carpenter, Micheal Haley, Jeremy Langlois, Bryan Lerg, John McCarthy, Frazer McLaren, Karl Stollery, Gus Young, and Troy Grosenick) the San Jose Barracuda now have 16 forwards, eight defensemen, and two goaltenders.
