October 5, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans' historic 60th season begins Friday, Oct. 9 when the team hosts the Lake Erie Monsters in its Home Opener at The Blue Cross Arena at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 10, Rochester hosts the Utica Comets at 7:35 p.m.
The opening night festivities begin with a pregame Happy Hour starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Upper Atrium Bar (Hall of Fame area) and features live music from ZBTB, America's No. 1 Zack Brown Tribute Band. Fans 21 and older can also enjoy Molson and Coors Light drafts for just $2. ZBTB will also perform during the first intermission.
Friday's Home Opener will also feature the first "Mystery Puck" of the season, where a limited number of 60th Anniversary Amerks pucks, signed by various players, will be for sale. Fans in attendance will receive a 2015-16 Amerks magnet schedule courtesy of Perry's Ice Cream, who will be on-site offering ice cream samples to fans. Fans can also get their picture taken in an Interactive Fan Photo Booth set up in the Atrium courtesy of the Democrat and Chronicle Media Group. Zweigle's will be providing a limited number of special product packages for fans as an exit handout following the game in the Lower Atrium.
Prior to the game, there will be special pre-game introductions of this year's team on the ice. Just like they did for the very first game in franchise history (Oct. 14, 1956 vs. Cleveland Barons), the Amerks will be hosting a team from Cleveland to kick-off the 60th anniversary season.
Amerks 60th Anniversary T-Shirt Packages are still on sale for Opening Weekend. For just $25, fans can purchase a commemorative Amerks 60th Anniversary T-Shirt and one voucher for a best-available ticket to either Friday or Saturday's game. Additional tickets can be purchased for $20 as part of the package. The packages can be purchased online at www.amerks.com/homeopener, in person at the Amerks office, or by phone at 1-855-GO-AMERKS. Amerks Season Ticket Members will be receiving a limited edition 60th Anniversary T-Shirt as a commemorative gift.
Following Saturday's game versus Utica, Amerks players will be available for a Meet & Greet session with fans in the Hall of Fame area that will last approximately 45 minutes. The Democrat and Chronicle Media Group will provide an Amerks autograph poster for fans.
Amerks 2015-16 Season Ticket Memberships, which start as low as just $8 per game, are now on sale. The Amerks are also offering a variety of partial ticket plans, including Half-Season Memberships and Flex Pack Memberships from six to 40 ticket vouchers.
