
American Hockey League Announces Suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:
Stockton Heat center Mitchell Heard has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence of a boarding incident in a preseason game at San Jose on Oct. 1.
Heard was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline), and will miss Stockton's regular-season games on Saturday (Oct. 10) vs. Rockford and Oct. 15 vs. San Jose.
Hershey Bears defenseman Bobby Shea has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions during an altercation in a preseason game vs. Albany on Oct. 1.
Shea was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline), and will miss Hershey's regular-season game on Saturday (Oct. 10) at Springfield.
Grand Rapids Griffins right wing Joel Rechlicz has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of a charging incident in a preseason game vs. Lake Erie on Oct. 2.
Rechlicz was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline), and will miss Grand Rapids' regular-season games on Friday (Oct. 9) at Bakersfield, Saturday (Oct. 10) at San Diego and Oct. 16 vs. San Antonio.
Iowa Wild forward Kurtis Gabriel has been suspended for three (3) games as a result of his actions in a preseason game vs. Manitoba on Oct. 3.
Gabriel was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) for leaving the players' bench on a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation. He will miss Iowa's regular-season games on Saturday (Oct. 10) and Sunday (Oct. 11) vs. Charlotte and Oct. 16 at Lake Erie.
