San Diego Signs Bikembe Kearney for 2024

San Diego Strike Force News Release


The San Diego Strike Force have signed defensive back Bikembe Kearney to their 2024 Indoor Football League roster.

Kearney (6-0, 195, UNC Pembroke / Winston Salem State) joins the Strike Force for his second season as a member of the IFL. With Tucson in 2022, he played in four games and recorded 13.5 total tackles, an interception, and a pass breakup.

Bikembe also spent time with the San Antonio Gunslingers in 2023 while they were a member of the NAL and in 2021 when they were in the American Arena League. He had a stint with the Omaha Beef of the CIF in 2020-2021 as well.

"Bikembe has gained experience under some very good coaches in our league," said head coach Taylor Genuser. "We're excited for the versatility and experience he'll add to our secondary."

In 2019 at Winston Salem State, he played in nine games and recorded 32.5 total tackles (22 solo), five tackles for loss, two sacks, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Bikembe started his collegiate career at the University of North Carolina Pembroke and after redshirting as a freshman, went on to play in 21 games over the next two seasons. He recorded 75 total tackles (41 solo), eight pass breakups, and an interception return for a touchdown.

During his prep career at Rocky Mount High School (North Carolina), he earned all-conference and all-area honors as a senior and two-way player.

The Strike Force will open the 2024 season on the road against the Duke City Gladiators before hosting the San Antonio Gunslingers for their home opener at Pechanga Arena on Monday, April 1st.
