San Antonio Rampage News Release
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Wednesday Dec. 19 at Texas Stars
Cedar Park Center, 7:30 p.m.
The interstate rivals will meet for the fourth of 12 matchups this season on Wednesday night with the game airing live on FOX Sports Southwest.
The Rampage are winless in the first three meetings between the two teams and dropped their last decision at Cedar Park Center, 3-0, on Nov. 15. The Stars have only lost once in regulation in their last 10 games (7-1-1-1) stretching back to Nov. 25. San Antonio has yet to win a divisional game on the road (0-5-0-0).
Friday, Dec. 21 at Toronto Marlies
Richo Coliseum, 6:00 p.m.
San Antonio will make their lone trip of the season to Richo Colisum to face a hot Marlies team that has won six of their last seven games and are 8-2-0-1 at home this season. In the previous meeting between the two clubs, Toronto skated away with a 5-3 victory on Nov. 25.
Saturday, Dec. 22 at Hamilton Bulldogs
Copps Coliseum, 6:00 p.m.
The Rampage and Bulldogs will square off for the first of two games this season on Saturday night. The game will be the last for the Rampage before the holiday break. Hamilton is averaging the fewest goals per game in the league this season (2.29) and have totaled a league-low 55 goals in 24 games.
TEDDY BEAR DELIVERY - Dec. 18: Several Ram- page players will deliver more than a hundred teddy bears to patients at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The teddy bears were collected during the Rampage's eighth annual Teddy Bear Toss night on Nov. 24.
RAMPAGE WATCH PARTY - Dec. 19: Sideliners Grill (15630 Henderson Pass) will host a viewing party on Wednesday for the Rampage's game against the Texas Stars at Cedar Park Center. The game will air live on FOX Sports Southwest at 7:30 p.m.
STREAKY: The Rampage rattled off four-straight wins in the first week of December before dropping four-straight games last week.
ROAD PENALTY KILL: San Antonio still owns one of the best road penalty kills in the league, operating at (51-for-58, 87.9%), good for third in the AHL.
HOMECOMMING: This week's trip to Canada will be a homecoming for four Rampage players (Michael Caruso, Jared Gomes, Eric Selleck, Scott Timmins) who hail from Ontario.
TV STARS: San Antonio's game on Wednesday night against the Texas Stars at Cedar Park Center will air live on FOX Sports Southwest starting at 7:30 p.m. In addition, Satur- day's game at Hamilton will be broadcast live on Sportsnet.
ICE CHIPS: Jonathan Sim-Forward
Jonathan Sim tallied the 14th hat trick in Rampage history, and first this season, in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Oklahoma City Barons. He recorded the feat in only his fifth game in the Silver and Black after signing a profes- sional try-out contract with the club on Dec. 7. The previous night, Sim scored his first goal for the Rampage. The Glasgow, Nova Scotia native has played in 469 National Hockey League games, recording 75 goals and 64 assists. In the American Hockey League, Sim has also totaled 172 games, averaging just shy of a point per game (94 goals, 77 assists, 171 points). The 5-foot-10, 190-pound winger spent the last two years playing overseas in Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Germany.
