Lincoln Saltdogs News Release
LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs added another bat to the lineup this week, signing outfielder Gavin Dickey. To make room for Dickey on the roster, Lincoln released pitcher Matt Reilly.
Dickey's pro career began in 2006, after being drafted out of the University of Florida in the 12th round by the Seattle Mariners. This season, he appeared at three different levels in the Mariners organization, starting with low-Class A Clinton. He played in just five April games before missing over a month with an injury. When he returned, Gavin was sent to high-Class A High Desert, where he hit .296 in 12 games. The Mariners then promoted Dickey to Class AA West Tennessee, where he hit .417 in four games. In addition to playing baseball at Florida, Dickey played quarterback for the Gators football team.
Reilly appeared in 15 games for Lincoln, after being claimed off waivers from Sioux Falls in June. He went 0-3 with one save and an 8.10 ERA.
