Pensacola Pelicans News Release
Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Pelicans are excited to announce a weekend celebrating the 40th anniversary of Woodstock beginning on Friday, July 31, 2009 and ending on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Pelican Park. Tickets are on sale now for this weekend of tie dye, fireworks, music and fun. Pelicans baseball is affordable family fun with tickets starting at just $7 each.
The celebration of the 40th anniversary of Woodstock promises to transport fans back to the peace, love, and happiness days of 1969 and, for added effect, fans are encouraged to dress in themed attire.
Friday, July 31 - The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a plain white t-shirt. There will be tie dye stations set up throughout the game for fans to tie dye their own shirts in true Woodstock fashion.
Saturday, August 1 - Fans can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display, sponsored by Circle K and WEAR TV3. The Pelicans will also welcome the local band, Jerry's Kids, a tribute band to the Grateful Dead, who performed at the original Woodstock in 1969.
Sunday, August 2 - It's Kids Day at Pelican Park. All kids club members get in free with their 2009 Kids Club t-shirt. Membership is only $10 and is available at all Pelican home games.
Fans can purchase tickets in advance and print from home via the Pelicans website: www.pensacolapelicans.com. Tickets are also available at Pensacola area Circle K locations, as well as the Pelicans box office on game days.
For more information on any of these events, to purchase tickets or book a party; call the Pelicans office at (850) 934-8444 or visit www.pensacolapelicans.com.
