Salt Lake Bees News Release
FRESNO - The Salt Lake Bees put up an early first inning run, but allowed Fresno to cross the plate four times in the bottom of the inning as the Bees ultimately fell to the Grizzlies 5-4 Thursday night. The Grizzlies would put one additional run on the board in the fourth against Salt Lake starter Alex Sanabia, before the Bees bullpen blew by the Grizzlies offense with 4.1 shut-out innings. The Bees managed two runs in the third and put another strike on the board in the sixth, but were unable to makeup the deficit.
Kyle Kubitza lead the Salt Lake offensive effort, going four-for-five while claiming two RBIs. Carlos Perez chipped in three hits, while Roger Kieschnick and Marc Kraus each collected a pair.
The Bees will play their home opener at Smith's Ballpark tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. with a fireworks show postgame. Tickets and additional information is available at www.slbees.com.
