
Salmon Kings make All-Star switch

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, and the ECHL announced today that 25-year-old Forward Milan Gajic will represent Victoria and Goaltender Julien Ellis has been replaced on the National Conference roster for the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game.
Sponsored by Rbk Hockey and hosted by the Idaho Steelheads at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho, the 15th Annual ECHL All-Star Game will commence at 7 p.m. (MT) on Jan. 17 and the 10th Annual ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will begin at 7 p.m. (MT) on Jan. 16.
After being named to the All-Star squad, Ellis was recalled to the Manitoba Moose (AHL) on January 5th and will not be able to attend the event. He will be replaced by Fresno Falcons' rookie goaltender Ryan MacDonald.
Gajic, the 6-foot, 180-lb native of Burnaby, British Columbia, has played in 26 games with the Salmon Kings and tallied 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) and sits at third place in team scoring this season. He is replacing Idaho Steelheads Forward Francis Wathier, who is playing with the Iowa Stars (AHL).
Gajic was signed to a professional tryout contract with the Manitoba Moose on December 5th, 2006. He appeared in six games and notched five points (2 goals, 3 assist), including a three-point night in a 4-1 victory versus the Peoria Rivermen. He returned to Victoria on December 21st.
His career totals now boast six points in 22 games between Manitoba and Providence of the AHL, and 87 points in 67 games between Victoria and Gwinnett in the ECHL. Gajic was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round (#122 overall) of the 2001 NHL entry draft.

The Salmon Kings continue their road trip with a three-game series in Alaska before returning to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre following the All-Star break, for a three-game series (Jan 19, 20, and 22) against the Bakersfield Condors.
