
Salmon Kings Assigned Goaltender Keetley By Abbotsford

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that the team has been assigned goaltender Matt Keetley from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL) for conditioning purposes.
The Medicine Hat, Alberta native has played in two games with Abbotsford this season posting a 0-1-0 record while registering a 4.81 goals against average and 0.884 save percentage.
The 6-2, 189 lb. Keetley is in third professional season having played for Abbotsford and the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League, the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, and the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). In 69 career professional games he has tallied an 18-30-10 record alongside a 0.933 save percentage, a 2.69 goals against average, and three shutouts.
Keetley was drafted in the fifth-round (#158 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames.
The 23-year-old's entire four-year junior career was spent with his hometown Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In 152 career games with Medicine Hat Keetley went 105-30-10 with a 2.05 goals against average, a 0.918 save percentage, and 18 shutouts. In the 2007 Memorial Cup with the Tigers, Keetley was named as the tournament's outstanding goaltender and was nominated to the tournament's All-Star team.
The Salmon Kings open up a three-game weekend set this Wednesday, November 11th versus the Ontario game with games to follow on Friday, November 13th, and Saturday, November 14th.
