Florida's Micflikier Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jacob Micflikier of the Florida Everblades is the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 2-8.

The 24 year old had four goals and nine points in three games and he leads the Everblades with six goals and 14 points in seven games and is tied for the ECHL lead in plus-minus rating with +9. He is under contract to Albany of the American Hockey League and has one goal in three games for the River Rats.

Micflikier scored his first professional hat trick and tied his career high with six points in a 7-0 win at Charlotte on Nov. 5. He had three points (1g-2a) and scored in the shootout in a 4-3 shootout loss at Charlotte on Nov. 4.

He was selected to the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game as a rookie, but was unable to play after being injured in an AHL game with Springfield. He has played in the ECHL each of his first three full seasons and has 75 points (26g-49a) in 46 regular season games and 17 points (6g-11a) in 12 Kelly Cup Playoff games for Florida and Stockton. He has also played in the AHL where he has 26 points (9g-17a) in 59 games for Albany, Rochester and Springfield.

On behalf of Jacob Micflikier, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida youth hockey organization by Sher-wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-wood Hockey has donated more than 22,800 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
