Salem Sox Rained Out

June 7, 2013 - Carolina League (CarL1) - Salem Red Sox News Release

Lynchburg, VA - A combination of wet field conditions and an ominous evening forecast joined forces to postpone Friday's scheduled doubleheader between the Salem Sox and the Lynchburg Hillcats. Consequently, the two clubs will embark on back-to-back doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's twin-bill will begin at 4:05, while Sunday's will start at 2:05.

With four games in two days this weekend and another five games in four days (including a doubleheader on Thursday) next weekend, the Sox and Hillcats will square off nine times in the next nine days. Incredibly, those nine games will actually occur in six days, with three doubleheaders mixed in, and Salem also has three scheduled games with Wilmington in between the two series with Lynchburg.

Salem will send Kyle Stroup the mound in game one on Saturday, while Kyle Kraus is the probable for game two.
