WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Right-hander Chris Beck, shortstop Chris Curley and third baseman Jeremy Farrell have been selected to represent the Winston-Salem Dash in the 2013 California-Carolina League All-Star Game, the league announced Friday afternoon.

In his first full season of professional baseball, Beck owns a 5-6 record and a 3.19 ERA, which is good for 10th best among qualified pitchers in the Carolina League. Beck, the fourth-best pitching prospect in the White Sox system according to Baseball America, is 11th on the circuit with 62 innings. The White Sox second round pick last year, Beck puts his three-game winning streak on the line tonight at BB&T Ballpark versus the Wilmington Blue Rocks.

Farrell, the reigning Topps Carolina League Player of the Month, currently leads the circuit with 42 RBIs. The Long Branch, N.J., native sits in a tie for fourth in the CL with nine homers, and his .487 slugging percentage is fourth-best on the circuit. Farrell, who will start the game as the Carolina League's designated hitter, earned a Midseason All-Star selection three times while with the Pirates organization. He officially signed with the White Sox on April 5.

Curley rounds out the Dash's All-Star group in 2013. The Fort Mitchell, Ky., native is one of two players in the Carolina League who is in the top six in batting average (.290, 6th), home runs (9, T-4th), RBIs (40, T-2nd), hits (65, T-3rd) and runs (38, T-4th). This is Curley's first trip to a Midseason All-Star Game in his minor league career.

The 2013 All-Star Game will pit the Carolina League All-Stars against the California All-Stars at San Jose Municipal Stadium, the home of the San Jose Giants. The game will begin at 10:35 p.m. EST on Tuesday, June 18.

Last year, Winston-Salem was the site of the Midsummer Classic. Behind Dash All-Stars Michael Earley, Matt Heidenreich and Brady Shoemaker, the Carolina League cruised to a 9-1 victory, snapping a three-game losing streak in the series.

The Dash are back in town tonight to open up their final homestand of the first half. Tonight the Wilmington Blue Rocks are in town to begin a three-game set this evening at 7. The game will be followed by a fireworks show, and kids will have the chance to run the bases, too.
