Coming Up This Week â The Saints play a pair of home games this week with the Laredo Bucks visiting the San Angelo Coliseum on Friday and the Lubbock Cotton Kings coming to town on Saturday.
Upcoming Promotions â Friday is Family & Military Appreciation Night. We are offering a Saints Family 4-Pack which includes 4 Mid-Zone Tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 soft drinks for $44. Fans can also get $6 tickets with a military ID card. The first 1,000 fans through the doors will get free keychains from KDCD Radio with a chance to win a new car. On Saturday the first 1,000 fans will receive free seat cushions from Shannon Hospital and there is a Post-Game Party with the players at the Coachman Club.
Week In Review â The Saints went 2-1-0 this week with back-to-back wins over the Odessa Jackalopes and a road loss to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
Nov 20th / San Angelo 7 - Odessa 4 / The Saints got 4 points from new forward Dan Reja in his first game and 4 points from Steve Roberts as they won a topsy-turvy game over the Jackalopes Thursday in Odessa. The Saints went up 3-0 early in the 2nd period only to see the Jacks tie the game 3-3 heading into the 3rd. The Saints went up 4-3 early in the period, then killed off a 5-on-3 power play and scored a short-handed goal to make it 5-3. A steal and unassisted goal by Roberts made it 6-3. With their net empty, the Jacks scored late in the period to make it 6-4, then Trevor Weisgerber scored an empty-netter for the Saints for the final 7-4 score.
Nov 21st / Odessa 3 - San Angelo 4 / The Saints got goals from 4 different players and 43 saves by Scott Reid to beat the Jacks 4-3 Saturday night in San Angelo. Corri Moffat and Weisgerber scored 1st period goals as the Saints went up 2-0. The Jacks tied the game mid-way through the 2nd period before Ryan Finnerty's goal made it 4-3 Saints heading into the 3rd period. The Jacks tied the game again in the 3rd before Jarret Metz scored the game winner with less than 4 minutes remaining. Moffat, Weisgerber and Metz earned the games' 3 Stars.
Nov 22nd / San Angelo 1 - Rio Grande Valley 4 / The Killer Bees scored 4 straight goals in the 2nd period to take their 3rd straight game from the Saints on Saturday night in Rio Grande Valley. The Saint scored first on Ryan Finnerty's 9th goal of the season â but the Bees dominated the 2nd period and jumped out to an insurmountable 4-1 lead. Bees goalie Jeff Levy was again excellent with 28 saves. The Saints played shorthanded without defensemen Derek Booth (emergency leave) and John Jarram (injured).
Player Moves: The Saints traded forward Taras Foremsky to Fort Worth for futures and signed forward Dan Reja. Scott Mahar was placed on injured reserve. The extent of Jarram's injury will be determined this week.
