San Angelo Suspends Operations

April 18, 2005 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
San Angelo Saints News Release

The San Angelo Saints of the Central Hockey League have today announced an immediate suspension of operations. The franchise license rights will be transferred and relocated to a to-be-announced location for the 2006-2007 Central Hockey League season.

“It is with great regret that we make today’s announcement,” said Saints President and C.O.O. Jim Cook. “We wish to sincerely thank our very loyal fans for their passion and support, as well as the City of San Angelo, our corporate partners, the San Angelo media and the Central Hockey League for their encouragement and assistance with our franchise.

“Unfortunately, after considerable investment and deliberation, the decision to suspend operations had to be made due to the lack of adequate support required to sustain viability.”

“I also wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to our devoted staff members, Coach Ray Edwards, and our roster of players for their significant efforts in making the City of San Angelo proud of their accomplishments,” Cook continued.

All Saints players will become immediate free agents within the Central Hockey League. The Saints office will remain open in the immediate future to address all business related issues. All deposits and season ticket payments already paid for the 2005-2006 season will be refunded in full.
