Corpus Christi IceRays News Release

Corpus Christi, Texas: November 24, 2003 – The Central Hockey League recently recognized Operations Manager of the Corpus Christi Rayz, Paul Beaudoin as the "CHL Employee of the Month" CHL President Brad Treliving announced. As the Operations Manager of the Rayz, Paul oversees all happenings in the arena, making sure that the facilities are kept up. He also is in charge of arranging for equipment for the players and staff and he is responsible for community relations with outside organizations. In addition to all his duties, Paul still manages to find time to help out the organization by selling tickets, helping with promotions and arranging for appearances in the Corpus Christi community.

"This is a great honor," said Beaudoin, who receives this award for the first time. "But it's a testament to the organization I work for and the people I work with. People inside the front office and others outside are always a pleasure to work with. People like Pat Dunn and Mike Cox make what I do enjoyable and easier. I couldn't do what I do without all their help, and I share this award with them."

After naming Beaudoin as the CHL Employee of the Month, Treliving praised Paul for his efforts. "Paul Beaudoin has been an outstanding representative over the years of not just the Corpus Christi Rayz organization, but of the entire Central Hockey League," he said. "In his tenure within the CHL, Paul has met and overcame numerous challenges, and continues to exhibit the demeanor, efficiency and work ethic that has made him an extremely valuable member of our organization."

Beaudoin has been with the Rayz franchise since their inception six years ago. He is the only person remaining in the organization that was here from the first day Corpus Christi hockey was born. In his time with the Rayz, Paul has filled almost every position imaginable. He has been an Operations Manager, Equipment Manager, Assistant General Manager and even a player. In the Rayz inaugural season, Beaudoin played eight games as a forward. Last season, he also played one game as a backup goaltender. Beaudoin has been a staple of Rayz hockey over the years, and means as much to the franchise as anyone.

"Paul works very hard day in and day out, and he deserves this award," said Rayz General Manager Pat Dunn. "All of us inside the Rayz organization see everything he does, and we're all extremely proud of him for this accomplishment."

The voting for the award is done by the General Managers from around the league. Beaudoin currently makes his home in Corpus Christi with his wife Emily. The two are expecting their first child in February.

The new look Rayz return home to the Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday November 26th when they host the Fort Worth Brahmas. The first 1,000 fans will receive Miller Light Rally towels courtesy of Andrews Distributing. Prior to the game, the Rayz will be participating in the "Share Your Christmas Food Drive" benefiting the Food Bank of Corpus Christi. Fans can get into the Holiday Spirit early and bring non-perishable food items to donate at the doors as they enter the Coliseum. Tickets are still available.
