St. Paul Saints News Release

ST. PAUL, MN (August 24, 2007) - Great baseball and unbelievable entertainment has been a staple for the St. Paul Saints during their 15 year history. Those two key ingredients once again helped the Saints set an attendance record during the 2007 season.

The Saints drew a shade under 300,000 fans during the 2007 year with 297,834 people walking through the turnstiles. During their 48 home games the Saints averaged 6,205 or 101.69% capacity surpassing the 101.68% in 2005.

The Saints beat their 2002 total by a little over 3,500 people this season. During the July 6 game, the Saints set a single game attendance mark by drawing 9,312.

"Mike Veeck said it best during the final regular season home game on Wednesday that our fans make this organization," said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Derek Sharrer. "For 15 seasons we put out the best possible product and for 15 years our fans have come out in droves. All I can do is say ‘thank you' for making my job so much fun."

The Saints have increased attendance in 11 of their 15 seasons and are a little over 26,000 fans shy of the four million mark, during the regular season, since the team's inception. Add in the pre and post-season and the Saints have drawn well over 4.1 million.

The Saints may have more post season games in 2007 as their magic number to clinch the North Division is one. A victory by the Saints or a loss by the Sioux City Explorers over the final two games and the Saints will make the playoffs for the 11th time in the franchises 15 seasons.
