The El Paso Diablos pounded the Coastal Bend Aviators 7-1 on Friday night at Cohen Stadium.

El Paso took advantage of two Aviators errors to plate two runners in the bottom of the first inning. Jorge Alvarez reached first base with two outs after the second baseman Will Lewis bobbled a routine ground ball. Walter Olmstead scored Alvarez on a single to right field. Juan Camacho scored later in the inning when the third baseman Grant Richardson booted a Matt Kent grounder giving El Paso a 2-0 lead.

Coastal Bend cut the deficit in half in the top of the second. Matt Spencer led off the inning with a triple. Phillip Grau picked up an RBI on a ground out to the short stop Conley, cutting the lead to 2-1.

The Diablos had an explosive bottom of the fourth inning. El Paso scored four runs on four hits. Evan Conley, Kory Drew and J.D Reininger had RBI's for El Paso as they took a 6-1 lead.

El Paso scored their final run in the bottom of the eighth. Logan Wood smashed an RBI single through the left side for the 7-1 advantage.

Aaron Trolia (2-0) threw six full, allowing one earned run off of three hits with two walks and six strikeouts.

Kevin Lee(1-2) threw four innings allowing four earned runs off of eight hits with no walks and one strikeout.

Jorge Alvarez was honored during the ball game as he was named the team MVP by the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Diablos will close out the series and the regular season against Coastal Bend on Saturday night at 7:05 PM. Eric Montoya will start for El Paso against Kevin Lee, who will start his second contest in a row.. The game will be broadcast live at www.diablos.com with Jon Barr on the call.
