Saints Go Purple For Prince's 50th Birthday
June 5, 2008 - American Association (AA)
St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (June 5, 2008) - He's had nearly as many names as hit records, but Prince continues to go strong and the St. Paul Saints will honor the Twin Cities native as he turns 50.
On Saturday, June 7 jump in your Little Red Corvettes and don your Raspberry Berets because the Saints are throwing a bash that can only be described as a "Purple Game."
The evening begins as Saints fans walk through the gates to some of Prince's top hits courtesy of cover band "Ovation." Once inside the ballpark there will be many changes on the field of play. The Saints will wear purple jerseys and instead of the numbers on the back of the uniform tops, the Saints will have symbols.
No evening honoring Prince would be complete without fans being encouraged to wear some of the more outrageous outfits he has worn over his long and storied career. Fans will also have a chance to win a really little red Corvette.
The Saints take on the Wichita Wingnuts at 7:05 p.m. on the night presented by Avis Rent a Car. Fans can get a great wireless phone as part of Top Mobile Saturday. For tickets to the "Purple Game" or any Saints home game, including the 2008 American Association All-Star Game, contact the Saints box office at 651-644-6659 or visit saintsbaseball.com
