Camp-out and Jenny Night

June 5, 2008 - American Association (AA)
Pensacola Pelicans News Release

On Saturday, June 7, fans will have their only opportunity of the year to camp-out in the outfield of Pelican Park. Everyone is welcome to pitch a tent on the soft manicured green outfield grass at Pelican Park.

For only $18 or $20 at the gate, fans receive a ticket to the game, hot dog, Pepsi, camp-out patch, post-game movie, camp-out on the field, and breakfast. The event is sponsored by Opus South Construction and Cat Country 98.7. Coleman has also provided several great prizes to be given away during the game.

The gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for the 6:05 p.m. scheduled start time.

In addition to camping out, fans will be treated to a special performance of the 1982 Tommy Tutone hit song Jenny (867-5309) sung by songwriter Alex Call. The Nashville resident says he, "Made it up under a plum tree. The name just had the right number of syllables." Call has worked and played with bands such as Huey Lewis and the News, Pat Benatar, Clover, and Mr. Big.

National recording artist, writer, and singer Lisa Carrie will also be in attendance to sing the National Anthem and God Bless America.

In tribute to the song, anyone named Jen, Jenny, Jennifer, etc. will be entered into a drawing for great prizes.
