The St. Paul Saints are providing their own version of "Cash for Clunkers" as one lucky fan will win $1,000 at the August 18 Saints game to be spent the next day at the Denny Hecker Property Auction.

As fans enter the ballpark on Tuesday, August 18 they can enter their name into a drawing for the prize. The following day, the winner will be whisked away in a limousine provided by Total Luxury Limousine to the auction site in New Germany with $1,000 to spend on Hecker's possessions.

Fans 18 or older at the Saints game vs. Sioux Falls on Tuesday, August 18 are eligible to win. The winner's name will be drawn and announced to the crowd later in the game.

Some of the more extravagant items in Hecker's collection include golf clubs, ATV's, a personal watercraft, and a yacht trailer. Buy as much as you can with your new found wealth. Over 100 items will be auctioned. The auction is being conducted by Fred Radde.

"People looked for great deals from Denny's dealerships, but this may be the next best thing." said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Derek Sharrer..

Hecker has filed his Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy protection. All the stuff was collected from his Cross Lake Home and is being auctioned as part of the liquidation process. The lucky winner will be invited back to the Saints game the night of the auction, August 19, to show off the merchandise they purchased.

The auction is set for 5:00 p.m. on August 19 and is located at the FWR Auction Center on 5545 County Road 33 at the intersection of Highway 7 and County Road 33. The winner will be escorted to the auction by a Saints staff member.
